About
I’ve spent twenty-five years building the web — long enough to have shipped on most of it, and to know which parts are worth arguing about.
Most of my work sits somewhere between product and platform: Rails applications with real users and real data behind them, front ends that stay fast on a bad connection, and the deployment and tooling that keeps a small team shipping without drama. I like projects where the domain is specific — a composer’s catalogue, a dating platform’s matching rules, a camp-staffing funnel — because that’s where the interesting engineering hides.
I work end to end and I’m happiest close to the people using the thing. Currently open to selected freelance and contract work.
